Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

Probate and Beneficiaries - WA State

If the personal representative of an estate has the funds to pay the beneficiaries, what is the time line required to make those disbursements?

The personal representative will not answer questions about disbursement. Grandmother died on 7/26/07, probate initiated on 8/6/07 and the beneficiaries have not been given anything other than 'I'll make a partial disbursement in a couple months', that was in February.

Should we ask for a status report through the court?

There is no specific schedule for making payments except that the payments should be made before closing probate. There are various motions that could be used to require an accounting-report or compel payments. Which would be best would depend on circumstances.
