Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington
Probate divison of assets
My Grandmother passed away in December and my mother and Aunt are selling her home. They have an offer, which my mother wants to take, but by aunt says no. What can my mother do in this situation if my aunt is unwilling to take this (which is a fair offer) or any other reasonable offer. Basically they are at a stalemate. Thanks!

Re: Probate divison of assets
Did your grandmother pass away intestate (without a will) or did she have a trust or will?
Was this heard by the Probate Court? Who is the executor of the estate?
Your mother can go to the Probate Court and show them the offer and request the Court confirm the sale.

Who is the Executor-Personal Representative-Administrator of the estate. They have the authority, but also the liability for mismanagement of the estate.
