Re: Proper will form
There is no such thing. If the person is divorced and the divorce is final, and the person has no other heirs, the adult child will take whether or not there is a will.
WA has a very simple probate statute. It is the default in case a person dies without a will. It is less fuss to have a will made, it makes it simpler for the beneficiary.
Also, WA requires that wills be formally signed and witnessed and acknowledged.
Your County Bar can refer you to an attorney who can draw up the will and ensure it is properly signed so as to be effective. Most counties have a low income referral for seniors who want wills. Pierce County will arrange for an attorney to do a simple will for a low income senior for $10.00. (Yes, ten dollars). This is not an expensive proposition, and it saves a world of grief over doing it with a form off the internet.
And you cannot sue a website or a form if it is incorrect.
Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
