Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington
Recently both my parents became terminally ill(mom-brain cancer can't communicate any longer,dad-fast onset dementia/Parkinson's-no longer mentally stable.). Their will states a division in assets at 40ughter, 40%son, 20% grandson.
My question is this the power of attorney has chosen to arbitrarily give my sister(the daughter), 1payment of $5,000 and a separate payment of around $4,500. Are these payments part of the distribution of my parents assets and if so it is my understanding that I deserve equal amounts and my son is owed 20% or just under two grand(which is badly needed for his college).
Thank you Rob Strain

These look like "advancements" or payments before the final distribution.Probably they were paid because she asked for the payments for some purpose. Have you asked for payments? Has your son?
