Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

ruling from the grave?

My mother had her will set up before she died so that the four ''misfits'' of the seven children splitting her estate had to take one year's worth of clean UA's within five years of her death in order to inherit. The other three get their money right away. We're talking $45,000-$50,000 a piece. Is this legal and is there any way I can sue for my money now? Without the UA's?

Re: ruling from the grave?

No, if the will was validly drafted she can direct whatever she wants. Remember, these assets were her's, not some entitlement to the children. My advice is for the four children to take their UA's, make sure they are clean, and be appreciative that the mother even included them in the Will. She certainly wasn't required to.
