Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

my trust fund

My grandmother left me a trust fund when she pasted away a few years back. In her will it says that this money is to be used for college, and only that until I turn 27, the I can do whatever I want with the money. I am 17 years old so therefore my mother is who is in control of it and I fear she may be spending it. She will not send me a bank statement so that I can look it over and see the balance. Is there anything I can do to protect my money from my mother?

Re: my trust fund

Yes. Do you know where your grandmother was when she died and was there a probate? If yes, go to that court, look at the file and see who probated it. Call them. Tell them what you said here. If the fund is in trust for you it is not your mother's to plunder. Because your grandmother has died, you are entitled to know what the trust says and where the money is and to an accounting.

Good luck with this. Powell
