Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

trustee question

How can a trustee inherit the trustor's money? I'm one of two trustees and my friend wants to leave her estate to me. How can this be accomplished?

Re: trustee question

I am unclear on whether this is an already existing trust, and if it is to whose benefit does it work? Or are you trying to create a trust in the Trustor's will with you named as one of the trustees. If the trustor has already conveyed the assets to a trust, the terms of the trust will generally determine how the assets are disposed of at the beneficiary's death, but the trustor generally can't convey what they have already conveyed. My thoughts on this wiould involve guessing at several alternatives without more facts.

Re: trustee question

Yes. A Trustee an inherit, but not prepare the will. Have an attorney review the trust agreement, if one exists currently, and make the necessary amendments. If one does not exist, then either hire an attorney to prepare one or have your friend prepare one himself. He can do so using "Create Your Legacy & Save the American Middle Class", a book I wrote for the layman to empower people without very large and complex estates to take care of these things without paying legal fees. You can find the book at www.IWant2CreateMyLegacy.com or on Amazon.com.
