Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

Will - Need help

I have been left money in a Will from my ex girlfriend who passed away 2 months ago and have not been officialy notified by the lawyers handling the estate. I have just been recently told by her recent boyfriend that he is going to do anything he can to stop me having the money. I believe his firm is handling the estate also. I have not been officially notified by anyone that I am mentioned in the Will and have little information to the firms details.

I live in the United Kingdom and she lived in Brewster, Washington State USA. We met 7 years ago online and had a relationship and met in Miami for 2 weeks. After she passed away her ashes were flown out to Miami and layed to rest on the beach of the hotel that we met at.

I have little money to employee investigators to look into this and I am unsure how I stand.

I believe that Brewster is in Okanogan county. Go to www.courts.wa.gov and find out. That website will have email and telephone numbers for the county courthouse.

Call them. Ask if your gf's will is there in probate. Ask them to send you a copy of the will. Read it. See what it says.

If you are correct, that she left you $, there is very little the other person can do to take away your rights pursuant to the will.
