no will, stepdad, adult children

Recently my mom passed away leaving large accounts and a home kept as her separate property that was paid in full and step father wants that home sold to collect his half the home that was owned for 30 years prior to their marriage. Disabled adult sibling lives in home for last 40 years. Can stepdad force adult children to sell and take half ownership of property? Stepdad and sibling have been appointed co executors for estate and are battling

This matter is far to complex to address in this context, and I am sure there are facts not disclosed in this question that are relevant to the answer The parties may need separate representation, and should probably consider mediation to figure out a reasonable resolution to this.
