Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

Last Will & Testament Kit No. 808

Is this still valid in WA State? (I

purchased this form at King County

Courthouse in 2000, I believe.)

There has not been any significant change in the law relating to wills since 2000, so if it was good in 2000 it is probably still usable. You probably bought it from AIB, I'd call them and see if the form set has changed.

I can't see the form you are referring to, and I cannot comment on something I cannot see.

Wills in Washington can be very simple. It is the formalities of signing that are especially important. If you do it without counsel and mess it up your will could be invalidated, so if you are trying to disinherit somebody or leave your money to a charity or to your pet in trust, you are not saving any money by doing this yourself.

The other thing that has changed is you can now file a will at the Clerk's office. The forms are available there.
