will/estate issue

does a copy (not original) of a will that was noterized and witnessed in 1971 still valid? original is not found to be filed with the state and the attorney and witness are dead.

Maybe yes. RCW 11.20.070 covers the issue of lost wills and what is necessary to prove up a lost will. You could make an that the copy is the best evidence currently available of a lost will.
