If I fill out a form for a will online and the company is located in California what do I nee to do to legalize the will in the state of Washington.? I thought you had to have a will notarized? I'm trying to save lawyer fees.

You need to have the will reviewed by an attorney licensed in WA to be sure that it complies with WA law in order to be admitted to probate here.

There are plenty of attorneys who will do this for a reasonable price.

You have to have a will witnessed. That means two people to whom you are not related and who do not stand to benefit from your will have to watch you sign the will and then sign it themselves and provide contact information and the notary acknowledges everyone's signatures.

Most County Bar associations have a low cost will clinic program available. Pierce County will provide an attorney who will draw up a will from scratch for $10.00.

Also, the real issues are whether or not you have a properly drafted and formalized Durable Power of Attorney and a Health Care Directive.
