Legal Question in Workers Comp in Washington
Fired while on worker's comp.
I sustained an injury 5-23-03 and have not worked since 6-20-03. My doctor put me on light duty, but my boss had nothing for me to do. I have going to physical therapy for the last four weeks or so and was maybe expecting to return to work on August 4th. But my boss called me last week and told me that when my wrist is better and I am released to work, that I do not have a job to come back to, that he had to hire another driver. Just wondering if he can do this or not. Thank you.

Yes and no, a typical lawyer's response. Actually, I need some more facts. Did he pay you while you were released for light duty? Will you still be able to drive? Have you qualified for unemployment before the injury? You can contact me at 1-800-599-9226
