Creditor Question Re; Bankruptcy
As a creditor, how will I know when someone who owes me money has filed, or is in the process of filing, bakruptcy?

It is difficult to determine if a person is "in the process" of filing because there are no pre-filing notices. The debtor may tell you or his attorney may tell you. After it is filed, every creditor that is listed on the matrix will receive a notice. If a creditor is not listed and does not find out about a filing prior to discharge and closing of the case, the debt in not discharged.
