can my employer hold my paycheck if I quit my job?

Not in West Virginia. He must pay you on or before the next regular payday. He must also pay vacation if you haven't used it. Finally, if he does not pay on time, you are deemed to continue to work for up to 30 days and can recover regular wages until he does pay you, up to the 30 days.
