Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in West Virginia
Divorce and marital property
I was divorced in 2000 and signed over the deeds and interest in a joint home to the ex. He transferred the deeds to himself. He is now default on the loan and the bank is pusuing me b/c I live in the state of WV (ex is in KY) and I have a job. He is also behind in property taxes but I signed the deeds over to him. What grounds do I have and do I have to pay the bank? My divorce papers read ''I shall be held harmless of the indebtedness''...

Re: Divorce and marital property
I would need to review loan docs and divorce decree to advise. Is there any interest in selling the property to pay off loan and taxes?
Is he employed or otherwise have any assets?
