Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in West Virginia

A Home Lien if I still pay the bill?

I have a credit card debt that is in collection. The collector for this company has violated my privacy act and now I refuse to deal with him. I have notified the original company of this. I have made a payment to the original company and it was accepted, can they still put a lien on my home or garnish my wages if a payment is made and accepted?
