Parental Financial Responsibility for an Adult Child
Do parents have any financial liability for credit card bills and other debts incurred by an 18 year old child if they have never signed or otherwise authorized the transaction?

West Virginia and virtually all other jurisdictions have adopted a version of the Statute of Frauds. This is a law that states, in short, no person is liable for the debt of another unless there is a writing, signed by that person to create the obligation.
