Yes, your name and credit history should appear on a credit report. Once you establish credit, your credit history is a matter of record for the credit reporting agencies. BUT, any negative information in the report may be questioned and REMOVED if it is more than 7 years old. This even applies to filing bankruptcy. It must be removed from your credit report after 7 years. BUT banks and other creditors can get around this by simply asking you on your loan application if you have EVER filed bankruptcy.

My advice would be to obtain a copy of your credit history. There are several internet sites that provide them for free. Simply search for "free credit report" and follow one of the corresponding links.
