Legal Question in Criminal Law in West Virginia
Becoming a citizen and a warrant
I have a friend from the islands that came to the U.S. on a student visa. He has since gotten married and has two children and is step-father to two other children. One of the children started lying for more attention and one of lies was about abuse by him. He was in NY at the time visiting family but now, for reason that are unclear, he has a felony warrant for his arrest. He is going to court this month to finalize his citizenship but is fearful of what is going to happen. What can he do? They can't afford legal counsel.
