Legal Question in Criminal Law in West Virginia

felony assult/malicious wounding

My daughters boyfriend went to jail for the above charge and he has a pretrial hearing friday and my daughter thinks he will get out, i thinks it is like an arraignment and he isn't going to be released. what should we expect and what can we do to help him we have tried calling an attorney there but so far no call backs

Who was involved? How long has he been in jail? When did it happen?
