Legal Question in Criminal Law in West Virginia

Practicing out of state, need lawyer

I had question regarding the possibility of obtaining a New Jersey lawyer that would be able to practice out of state in WV. An incident occured at college, and the University is held highly responsible. How do I go about locating a lawyer who would be willing to take on a case vs. a large university. I will definitely have no luck finding one in WV. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Practicing out of state, need lawyer

Your entire premise is completely wrongheaded.

First, all lawyers everywhere love to take cases where a well-insured institution is the defendant. If your case has any merit whatsoever you will have your choice of hundreds of in-state lawyers.

Second, I cannot imagine a worse strategy than importing a lawyer from New Jersey to try a local case.

Either someone with no brains is telling you very foolish things or someone with a little brains and questionable ethics is trying to get a piece of the action.

You should do your homework and get a good local lawyer to handle the case.
