Legal Question in Criminal Law in West Virginia
worthless check
During a pre-emloyment screening, I was just informed that there was an arrest warrant issued on me for a worthless check in 12/2004. I moved during this time to another state and had closed the account. I contacted the county magistrates office from WV and obtained the fee's and information to clear this. Since I have not been arrested, once I pay the fee's, will this still show as a misdemeanor on my background in the future?

Re: worthless check
Yes, and the warrant may not be removed without further action. The best way is to hire an attorney to make sure the warrant is withdrawn. You may call my office for representation.
