Legal Question in Family Law in West Virginia
Creating an unliveable environment
I am a 53 year old disabled veteran and have a divorce filed against me for mental cruelty. My soon to be x-wife has taken it upon herself to remove everything from my house, with the exception of a loveseat, a floorlamp, and my bed, though she did take the headboard, but I refused to let her take my 14 year old daughter's bed and desk. There is now not even a kitchen table for us to sit at and I am stuck with all the bills, some of which are utility bills in danger of of being cut off. Even though she has removed all these things, she says she will not go anywhere until I furnish her a place to live or the utilities are cut, at which time she will take my daughter and stay with her father. I don't think this is a good or safe way for my child to have to live, or for that matter me to live. I am afraid to go to human services for fear of them placeing my child in a shelter, ect. I don't have a lawyer, because I cannot afford one, she does, do you know of any solution, help or law that applies to this tpye of problem, or where I could get help? My temporary hearing isn't until August 23rd, though I have to have an answer filed by the 19th of this month and I know nothing about the law.
