Legal Question in Family Law in West Virginia
Husband's ex-wife using last name
My husband's ex-wife is remarried and currently using his last name instead of her current husband. Is that legal for her to do?

Re: Husband's ex-wife using last name
A woman does not have to change her last name when she re-marries. She can use her former spouses surname or any other surname of her choosing. It is very common for a professional woman to keep her ex-husband's last name for business purposes.

It is absolutely legal for a woman to not change her name to her new husband's name.
