Legal Question in Family Law in West Virginia

Should he have a lawyer present

My daughter-in-law filed a completely false domestic violence order against my son in order to keep him from seeing his children and try to get full custody. In this order she states she fears for her life but he has NEVER hit her or the children and NEVER threatened them. She lied and said thier 4 year old son trembles with fear when his dad comes near him. Many people have seen them together and seen their loving, close relationship. Should he hire a lawyer for this hearing? The deputy who was there as she removed her things was shocked when she asked if she could hug my son goodbye (which my son refused) but we don't know if he is required to show up for the hearing since no one was arrested. The request shows how afraid she really is. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Re: Should he have a lawyer present

Your son NEEDS A LAWYER to represent him.

HE MUST attend ALL COURT appearances concerning any matter that may relate to his marriage, child support, etc.

Good luck,
