Legal Question in Civil Litigation in West Virginia

the lying lady

there is a lady who lives two doors away who has called my landlord and lied saying that my dog are barking all night,that we fight our dogs, and that we are breeding our dogs, then as if that wasn't enough she went to court yesterday telling the same lies try to get a patition granted to have my husband and i arrested and our dogs taken away and/or force us to have them fixed. i would like to know is there anything we can do legally about her lying not only to our landlord but to the courts all because she don't like us and we have never done anything to her.

Ask all your neighbors to come to court and testify as to the truth. You have subpoena power. Your neighbor's communications to the authorities and the court is privileged. If she accuses you of a crime to a third party, that could be actionable slander. If you are subject of a court proceeding, you need a lawyer.
