Legal Question in Personal Injury in West Virginia

Interragatories and production of documents

Legal Aid was working with me on my personal injury case.I just found out that because two of their attorneys are leaving their firm they are unable to proceed with the case. The defendants have turned the case over to their insurance company. They have sent their interragatories and requests for documents to me.Since I am in the process of finding another attorney what can I do about these? Can I get a continuance on these{they are due June 17th,2008] How do I go about doing it? Your assistance would be deeply appreciated.

Re: Interragatories and production of documents

Ordinarily the defense attorney will grant an extension of time to answer. The stipulation should include the "time to file a response" not just "time to answer" you or your lawyer may want to object to questions or production. It should be done with a stipulation sent to the clerk, however an agreement reflected on the letterhead of the lawyer should be sufficient. I would make sure the clerk has the stipulation if the enlargement of time includes time to admit or deny requests for admissions.
