Legal Question in Real Estate Law in West Virginia

Employee housing question

I work as a doorman at a night club. In return for cleaning 4 days a week, I can live in one of the rooms upstairs and share a common bathroom. I pay the utilities for the upstairs (My room, Bosses office and band practice rooms and guest rooms.) What rights do I have for this type of tennancy?

Re: Employee housing question

In the absence of a written document, such as a lease, or deed, or employment agreement, one who holds possession of realty does so at the will of the owner or the person with the right of possession. West Virginia consumer law does require notice to evict. The notice is dependent upon the payment terms. I get the impression there is a lot more to be known about your situation. You cannot accept this reply as anything more than a general statement which may or may not hold in any given circumstance. You may have to pay a consulting fee to a lawyer, to secure advice upon which you can act or rely upon.
