Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in West Virginia
Is it sexual harassment?
Dear Sirs: The general agent at my office repeatedly makes unwelcome comments and gestures towards me during our bi-weekly meetings. He has on several occassions touched me inappropriately (brushed his hand across my rear) and constantly comments on how cute I am/what a ''hot little body [I] have''. These comments are unwelcome and I have on each occassion told him to stop. The problem is, though, that he does these things either in his office or when no one else is in the conference room (meaning there are no witnesses). I know he has had complaints of this nature before, but my concern in contacting someone is that it will be my word (a sales agent) against his (the general manager). My job performance is suffering because I am angry about his blatant disrespect, and I try to avoid him whenever possible. Do I have any grounds for complaining, and would it even be beneficial? Thank you.

Re: Is it sexual harassment?
You are definitely suffering sexual harassment. Do you have anyone to whom you can complain? Do you know the women who have previously complained?
You have a cause of action now, but it would be helped if you were to complain to his supervisor--especially, if they did nothing about it after you complained.
