How long does the Executor have to distribute monies stated in first paragraph of will , not tied to the estate and/or sale of house, in the State of West Va.?

Without knowing the nature of these monies it would be difficult to say. In Virginia, an executor generally has around 14 months or so to complete all distributions, and submit a final report to the commissioner of accounts.

The executor should wait until the claims are paid and no other claims are expected or permitted. He has to file a report within a year of qualification or he could lose his fee. A motion could be brought before the County Commission to compel distribution. If there is embezzlement or other fraud, a suit can be brought in the Circuit Court.
