Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in West Virginia

will question

My father lives in West virginia. He recently gave me his will which lists where he wants his assets to go. He has a mortgage and credit card debt. can these companies come after the house and items in the will if he passes? I really dont want to lose what memories i will have to his creditors. is there a way to change something so they cant take all his things when he passes?

Re: will question

With proper planning it may be possible to make sure the creditors are unable to come after the home. Creditors, such as credit cards, do not normally have a claim against a person's homestead in Florida.
