Legal Question in Banking Law in Wisconsin
Cash Deposit
Is it illegal for someone other than the account holder to make a cash deposit into a checking account? I'm dealing with an obsessed individual, and my bank can't let me view their security tape unless there is a police report attached. The bank allows cash deposits. From what I know, the individual asked for my account by name. Since I'm the only one with that name, $2500 was deposited. The deposit receipt was mailed to me. I have filed a harassment claim at work for this individial once already.

Re: Cash Deposit
Are you NUTS? You want to complain about someone making CASH deposits into your account? NO it is NOT a crime, nor should it be.
My tenants and clients make deposits directly into my operating checking acct all the time.
You may want to go to court to get a restraining order, if you can get the judge to stop laughing.
