Legal Question in Banking Law in Wisconsin
How long can a bank in Wisconsin (TCF Bank) hold funds that have been released from an IRS tax levy on Sept. 12, 2016. Made several calls and attempts, also faxed them a second cop y of the release , still holding funds?

My guess would be that the bank is waiting for the IRS to send a letter to them releasing the levy or lien, which could realistically take a month or two to arrive. You should talk to the contact agent in charge of the levy and see if they can send such a letter out.
