Legal Question in Business Law in Wisconsin
Hello! I just created a blog where I will review products and talk about informational topics. I plan to include affiliate links in the future as my way of monetizing. I will be a sole proprietor for the time being. My website name/domain name is not my first and last name. For example, something like "Navy Neutrals." I will also use that same name as my Pinterest name and any other social media. When I sign up for the affiliate programs, however, I will use my first and last name for signup and payment and not "Navy Neutrals." Am I required to create a DBA?

A DBA will not be needed if you are using your actual name in all places where legally applicable. The domain is fine so long as the webpages tell the visitor who they are dealing with. If, however, you want to transact business under a different name, then it would be smart to file the DBA. Further, if you are promoting a brand name like "Navy Neutrals" you have to treat this as a proper trademark and clear it and presumably file an application for registration with the USPTO. Don't start making any investments in it unless you know it is clear to use.
