Electric Company
Can the Electric Company legally force me to pay a ''fee'' to assist low income families pay their bills? I get charge this ''FEE'' each month, and I thought our taxes paid for low income assistance for energy? It's on my bill each month yet they are shutting off power to the needy

Welcome to public utilities regulation by the State of Wisconsin. Yes, they can. Visit the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration website to see the range of programs available for low income residents in terms of defraying utility expenses, and look at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) website as well. I'm not defending it - just saying it's a long established practice, yet another income transfer program courtesy of the Badger State.
