Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Wisconsin
Amicus Brief
Who is qualified to file an Amicus Brief. I have read on one site (produced by an attorney) that only an attorney can file the brief. What if you are a grass-root advocacy organization? Can you file the brief without stepping over UPL statutes in the state of Wisconsin? Thank you.

Re: Amicus Brief
The filing of a legal brief with a court is undoubtedly the practice of law and requires a lawyer's signature. Amicus briefs require the permission of the court before they may be filed.
