questioning of a minor by police

is it legal for a minor(11 year old)to be questioned by an officer without a parent being notified first or with out any consent?

I believe it is legal for an officer to do so, however, I believe that the interview must be videotaped if any statment from that interview is to be used at a future date. I would suggest your contacting an attorney who does criminal defense law to confirm the legality of the questionning.
