Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Wisconsin

getting rid of belongings that someone left with us

About 2 years ago, my son left quite a few personal posessions with me and my husband. He has since left the area. He was in a Huber law program and walked away. I don't think I will be hearing from him again. How long must I hold on to these belongings? They include clothes, vacuum, golf clubs, etc.

The best solution would be to get word to him to pick up his things by a date certain, and advise him they will be disposed of at your discretion if he doesn't claim them by the deadline. Alternatively, put his things in storage somewhere, preferably at no cost, and let them stay there until he resurfaces, and, at some point, he will. Best of luck,
