Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Wisconsin

My rights

What rights do i have as a child of 17. can my parents go through my personal letters or mail without my permision. can they open them and read them too. Is there anything i could do if they go through my privite things. why just because i'm not 18 give my parents the rights to take my right of privacy away.

Our right to privacy is not mentioned in the US Constitution but has been given in limited circumstances by US Supreme Court decisions. All of our constitutional rights protect us from "state" or "public" action. That means agents of the state, for instance, police, state troopers, the FBI are not supposed to violate our rights. You have no privacy rights, as you describe them, from your parents whether you're 17 or 25. As long as you live with them or they have access to your property, the best you can do is to try to get them to voluntarily respect your rights.
