What can i do?

Hi, I would like to know what can i do in the following situation.... in legal terms.

I have lots of friends where i live and we use to hang out together. All the sudden they have started neglecting me. And i was curious about this whole thing and found out someone is telling wrong things about me to them, which are not true. What kind of legal action i take against that person who i telling all these things to friends against me..

It depends upon the type of things being said; if they are false statements that accuse you of criminal, or morally reprehensible

behavior you have a slander cause of action.
