Non-compete agreement

my boss had us sign a Non-compete agreement. but in the agreement we are not alowed to work for or with any other technology co. 'any thing with computers'' or compete for 5 years after leaving the co. is that legal? how can i get out of it. The other thing is that we had to sign is that we are not to let the public know that we have ilegal things that we are told to do from the boss. thanks
