Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Wisconsin

informed consent -what does the date signed mean?

When a person signs an informed consent- What does the date signed mean? I have been told this means that any information sent cannot have a date later than the signed date. For example: the informed consent was signed 4/20/01. Information was created after the date was signed on 8/20/01. Can I release the specified information?

Re: informed consent -what does the date signed mean?

I would need to know more -- is this a public document, a government agency or some private entity? Are these medical, psychological, privileged or otherwise protected by law? Certainly on the face of your description, it makes sense that only items predating the consent would be released. That would certainly be the safe route. Check the scope of the written authorization because it may state that it is valid prospectively for a given period thus obviating the need for additional authority during that time. More information will help to provide a more focused answer.
