Legal Question in Consumer Law in Wisconsin
Boat purchase
I bought a boat that i was told just neede a tune up. Got it home to discover it had a blown motor.Put a stop payment on my check and now i have yet to reiceve a call from the seller what is the next step.Do i just wait for him to call?

The next call may be from the District Attorneys office. The law does not allow a person to stop payment on a check with out some consequences. The question is was the boat used?, was it "as is"?, did the dealer know the motor was blown? You should call the seller and work it out! Stop payment does not mean you will not have to pay and in some cases it is criminal, I recently defende a client with fact alot like your he was charged with theft by check.
