legal rights in the classroom
I am an 18 year old student attending a senior high school. There are various soda machines throughout the building (Obviously soda is not discouraged at my high school). After purchasing a soda and taking it to my class, i began to consume it. While doing so, my teacher made a comment that soda was not allowed in the classroom. This is not an attempt to disrespect my teacher, i am just curious to know my legal standing on this issue. After debating it with the teacher i decided to bring the question public and get some 'professional' help. My question is this: Considering legal rights and privileges am i allowed to bring and drink soda in class assuming all circumstances are non-disruptive and being as i have bought the soda my private property under law, can i bring and consume a soda to class?

NO, and you can't smoke or chew gum either.
Just be patient. After graduation, you will be able to enjoy the full benefits of the United States Constitution and the freedoms guaranteed therein.
Until then, suck it up. You're a prisoner.
