Legal Question in Consumer Law in Wisconsin

puppy purchase

Is there anything I can do if I purchased a puppy that I thought was registered and did not get the registration papers at the time I got the puppy and still have not got the papers. I know this seems like a stupid ? but I paid $325 dollars for this puppy and if I knew I wasn't going to receive the papers I would not have paid that much.

You would have an action against the seller for return of the purchase price (you would have to return the puppy) or for the difference in value of the puppy with and without the papers (you would have to prove the amount of the difference).

If you can prove the puppy has no papers for the seller to give you and the seller indicated that there were papers, then you may have an action in fraud.

You checked that this has to do with Wisconsin law. Was the seller in Wisconsin? Trying to litigate over a few hundred dollars with someone in another state may not be worth it (in terms of being able to collect a judgment) unless the seller is a commercial enterprise with operations in Pennsylvania.
