Renters rights
I have been renting a house since sept of 2005 and there are things wrong with it .I have let my land lord know the problems he dosent seem to care.Here are the things that are wrong.2 light sockets have shorts in them. No railing going down basement stairs. Bathtub leaks into basement. Heat dosent blow up stairs right.Water leaks from by the furnace.Front porch has no railing.Back storm door and frame are rotted out.Water pools right out side back door cause there is no spaces in deck or rain gutters.Basment window is broken.There are some other things too,but I am just
woundering what to do about this.Like I said I have lived here since sept 2005 I have told him about these things he said he would fix them but he never does!What right do I have Can i withhold rent?

No, you may not legally and unilaterally withhold rent without an abatement. However, you can sue on breach of warranty to maintain habitable premises and/or for constructive eviction.
