Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Wisconsin

Collections

I live in Wisc. and would like to know if a collection agency can legally charge interest on an account that a judgement was filed with a filing fee and attorney fee after the judgement amount was taken by garnishment?

Example: Judgement $ 1597.83

Attorney fee $ 150.00

Filing fee $ 84.00

Total $ 1831.83

Once the garnishment amount of $1831.83 has started can they begin charging me interst on this account? And continue to charge interst after the $1831.83 garnishment is completed ?

Re: Collections

Unfortunately, WI law calls for 12% annual interest on the unpaid portion on all judgments until the balance is paid in full. If this is causing major problems for you, you should consult with an experienced bankruptcy attorney.
