Paid in full

We wrote a check and put paid in full in the memo line. Can they charge me for more if they have cashed the check?

Writing

Writing "Paid in Full" in a Check Memo

WI recognizes a legal concept know as "accord and satisfaction" wherein acceptance of a payment which is clearly labeled and intended as such can resolve a disputed claim. If the claim is not truly disputed, however, this doctrine does not apply and the creditor can continue to pursue the balance owed. I would therefore need to know much more about the facts and circumstances in your case before I could advise you. You really need to retain and consult with your own attorney in this situation; my comments here online are not intended as legal advice for you.
