Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Wisconsin

I just received a summons to appear before the court commissioner on a judgement from July. It is asking for 3 years of financial and property records. It also says that I may contact the plaintive council. I may ad that my spouse and rest of the family where on medical assistance up until last month, the kids are still covered however the spouse and I are not due to state criteria on poverty levels to push us on obama care. According to what I have read, since we were on public assistance within the last six months i am amine to wage garnishment. Should I call the plaintiff and tell them this and submit proof to avoid the court date ? Wouldn't that save them time and money as approsed to going to the court date ?

Post judgment asset discovery proceedings such as this are serious business which can actually result in your arrest for contempt of court if not properly handled, even if you have nothing to pay. You therefore need to jump through all of these hoops and provide the info requested (and ordered by the court) or face these potential sanctions. However, just like other collection proceedings, they can be stopped ("stayed") in bankruptcy. If you don't want to keep going through this periodically for every judgment which has been entered against you, then speak with an experienced bankruptcy attorney in your location as soon as possible.
